Overview

Among Thomas More Travel Eco Tours there is near to Contoy Island a stop to snorkel at a reef. Once arriving to Contoy, visitors can just lay on the beach, swim or snorkel. Bird watching is an exceptional activity here, due to the abundance and variety of birds living in the mangroves and lagoons of this lovely island, like pelicans, cormorants, frigate birds, ibis, herons and roseate spoonbills, among others. There is available an optional boat ride through the mangroves with and extra charge ($10 US per person) to see all these birds up close.

This virgin island barely has 5.2 milles long and only 70 feet at its narrowest point. It is located 45 minutes North of Isla Mujeres and is the beginning of the second largest coral reef chain in the world. Its beaches are shallow, clear and calm featuring exuberant flora and fauna and wonderful underwater sights, that will amaze any snorkeler.
