Overview

If you are looking for mayan ruins or adventure tours we  recommend you to visit the ancient city of Ek Balam (black jaguar or star jaguar in Maya), that is only three hours from Cancun in the Yucatan Peninsula and represent one of the most majestic heritages from our Mayan ancestors. Ek Balam has been a mistery-full enigma and a blend of architectural and artistic styles from all over the Yucatan Peninsula.

The most important structures are referred as the Central and South Plazas. Numerous constructions of different sizes are found around these. The most important cultural period at Ek Balam was the Late Classic (700 - 1000 A.D.)

The decoration of Ek Balam's building facades was done with stucco and limestone mortar modeled into distinct forms and then painted.

If you want to join us in this mayan adventure, the transportation will pick you up right in your hotel and will take you directly to the archaeological zone, where you will have a guided tour and the chance to climb the pyramids and take pictures from the top. You will have a free time to choose your best sights and shop.

Later on, we will continue our tour visiting the colorful colonial city of Valladolid, where we will have lunch, visit the cathedral and the museum of the town. Afterwards you will have free time to shop.

We come back to Cancun at 6 p.m.
