Overview

Venture deep into the jungle on this excursion which combines Mayan history and traditions. First you will visit Coba, one of the largest archaeological sites in the Maya World, so huge, in fact, that most of the ancient temples still lie under a mantle of dense vegetation.

Climb the Nohoch Mul pyramid, the tallest in the northern Yucatan, for breathtaking views of Cobas lakes and the green sea of trees that engulfed this ancient city.

Then, at the Mayan village of Chimuch you will meet the inhabitants and they will show you their world. Explore the forest with a Mayan guide and keep a look out for colorful birds and animals. Try your hand at rappel in the mysterious Jaguar Cenote, cross the Caiman lagoon on a zip line, go canoeing on the larger Chimuch lagoons and make a thrilling rappel descent. But it is not all adventure, there is mystery too. You will learn about the Mayan way of life and beliefs and rituals that have endured for thousands of years.

Schedules

Recommendations
